You can always leave the anchovies out but once they are all crushed up in the garlic and oil you don’t taste them. It just adds a complex salty flavor. ? The wine adds a nice flavor to the dough. Since this is not a yeast risen dough the wine gives it a more yeasty quality. I know you aren’t on a GF diet so if I were you I’d just use whatever your favorite lower glycemic crust happens to be.

Gluten Free Bisquick is a baking mix sold by the Betty Crocker company. The ingredients include Rice Flour, Potato Starch, Baking Powder, Xanthan Gum & Sugar. If I were substituting for the baking mix in this recipe I’d use (1 cup rice flour, 1/3 cup potato starch, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp of xanthan gum and no sugar) I think the sugar only detracts from this recipe. GF Bisquick is available at? many online stores including glutenfreely(dot)com Hope this info helps.
