I have to do the same thing when explaining my? gluten sensitivity. I have to say “wheat allergy” versus needing to eat gluten free. Most people look at you like you have two heads if you ask for a meal without gluten. A much better response to being allergic.
I am a chef, it is tough to do in the restaurant. Do? not trust the cooks in the kitchen. It is not100% gluten free. !00 % of the time. Grills pans and pots still have gluten in it some where. Beware????
